Hi! My name is Elliot, and I am 15 years old. I have 5 acres located in El Dorado County, California, where I proudly raise, breed, and sell quality ADGA-registered American Toggenburgs and Nigerian Dwarf goats (see my for sale page for the last of the nigis.) Scrappy Acres began as a 4-H project to get involved with the community, but has become a passion. My goal is to have a large herd with structurally correct, productive does that thrive in the ring.
At Scrappy Acres, my mission is to breed quality ADGA-registered goats that excel in the ring, have great milk production, and live happy, healthy lives. I focus on sound structure, productivity, and ethical care—because great goats start with great lives.
Herd Management
My herd management includes feeding high-quality alfalfa hay and pellets, grain for milking does and growing kids, and providing both loose minerals and mineral blocks free choice. Hooves are trimmed monthly, and selenium/vitamin E paste is given at the same time. Copper bolus is administered as needed, typically every 6 months to 1 year.
All goats over 1 year of age are annually tested negative for Johne’s, CAE, and CL, and copies of current test results are available when purchasing a goat. Kids receive CD&T vaccinations at 6 and 8 weeks of age, with adult goats vaccinated every 6 months thereafter.
